Vistra Country Managing Director Alistair Schembri on Sunday expressed his desire to show greater appreciation to everything in 2023, as he reflected on the past 12 months.

Commenting just a few hours before the start of the new year, Dr Schembri explained that it is “usually a time of reflection” for him, as he looks back at “the experiences that would have defined” the year.

“On a personal level, I’ll remember 2022 as the year where I hit one of the lowest points in my life. I’ll remember my perseverance, my sacrifices, and everything I’ve had to make in order to make a change in my life,” he said.

Additionally, the past year taught him to “appreciate everything” that he has, including his family and health.

“Taking things for granted is a common mistake we all make, and we should focus more on the positives in our lives and really start taking things into perspective. It’s very easy to lose track of what’s really important in life, but it’s good to refocus once in a while,” Dr Schembri added.

He proceeded to wish everyone a “healthy, joyful, and prosperous” year, especially those that are going through challenging times, are lonely, sick or struggling to make ends meet.

“I hope that 2023 will be kinder to you,” Dr Schembri concluded.

Dr Schembri joined Vistra’s operations in Malta in 2010 as an inhouse Lawyer, before he was subsequently promoted to Director and Deputy Managing Director. He has served as Country Managing Director for over two years, and is primarily responsible for managing the corporate service provider’s Malta office while also implementing a strategic plan that focuses on growth within the private wealth sector.

He graduated with a Doctor of Laws from University of Malta in 2009 and was admitted to the Bar in 2010. Dr Schembri is a Member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates, the Malta Institute of Financial Services Practitioners and the Malta Chamber of Commerce.
