Veteran public sector leader Ivan Falzon has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Gozo Regional Development Authority (GRDA), following an appointment by the Authority’s Board of Directors.

Mr Falzon has held senior executive positions across various sectors, including healthcare and infrastructure. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Infrastructure Malta, as well as CEO of the Water Services Corporation and Mater Dei Hospital.

Commenting on the appointment, Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, welcomed Mr Falzon to his new role, describing his leadership as “crucial for delivering on the GRDA’s mission” to strengthen Gozo’s regional identity and support its long-term economic development.

Minister Camilleri also extended his gratitude to outgoing CEO Mario Borg for his service, as Mr Borg transitions into a new role as Permanent Secretary within the Ministry for Gozo and Planning.

GRDA Chairman Michael Grech endorsed the appointment, saying that “under Ivan’s leadership, the GRDA is well-positioned to enhance its impact on Gozo’s sustainable development, while continuing to build meaningful connections with the local community and stakeholders.”
