Signal 8 Security Services Malta Ltd has announced the appointment of Julian Dimech as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1st November 2026.
Mr Dimech is no stranger to Signal 8. As General Manager for the past 4 years, he played a central part in strengthening operational performance and driving the company’s growth strategy. Before that, he held senior leadership positions as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of leading companies, giving him a wealth of experience across security, healthcare and national transport.
He brings a strong commitment to operational excellence and a clear vision for sustainable, forward-looking growth. His appointment marks a significant milestone in Signal 8’s pursuit of best-in-class service delivery and performance.
Julian will work closely with Joseph John (Jovan) Grech, Founder and Director of Signal 8, supporting the company’s strategic direction and overseeing the delivery of its business objectives and day-to-day operations. After 21 years at the helm, Jovan will now have Julian alongside him to meet the challenges of running the business, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for Signal 8 Security Services Malta Ltd.
As CEO, Mr Dimech will also provide leadership, guidance and support to the other members of the executive leadership team, ensuring clear priorities, effective collaboration and accountability across their respective functions. This appointment strengthens our leadership structure and supports the company’s continued growth and development.
Over the past 21 years, Mr Grech has been the driving force behind the company’s growth, vision and success. Through his leadership, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, he built Signal 8 from the ground up into a strong and respected organisation, one that today positively impacts the daily lives of hundreds of people across Malta. Jovan will remain as Director of the company, and Signal 8 will continue to benefit from his extensive experience and strategic guidance.
In addition, Mr Dimech will mentor and support the next generation of leadership, including Jovan’s children, Floyd Grech, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Kim Grech, Chief People Officer (CPO). This forms part of a carefully planned, long-term succession strategy that ensures continuity and stability for our clients, our people and our partners.
Reflecting on this milestone, Mr Grech said: “It is with great pride and a sense of fulfilment that I take this step and continue to serve as a Director of the company. I do so with gratitude and respect for the legacy we have built over the last 21 years. Together, we have earned an outstanding reputation built on honesty, trust and determination, set the standards and led from the front.
“I am grateful, first and foremost, to God, who has always kept us on the right track under His protection, and to the hard-working colleagues who have stood with us over the years. I salute everyone who gave their all for this achievement.
“Our focus must now turn to the future. Without ever underestimating this highly dynamic and competitive industry, we embark on our next chapter with excellence and execution.
“Mr Dimech’s appointment as CEO is a natural progression in his leadership journey within our organisation. Over the years, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional vision, determination, and strategic insight. I am confident that under his leadership, the company will continue to grow, innovate, and strengthen its position as a leader in the sectors we operate in.”
Looking ahead, Mr Dimech set out his vision for the company: “Our strategy will be anchored in strong, purpose-driven partnerships with customers, employees, suppliers, and the markets we serve. These relationships will be critical to sustaining our growth as we advance towards a technology-enabled, high-performance and sustainable service model across all business lines.”
While Signal 8’s leadership evolves, their promise to their clients stays the same. Through continued investment in talent, technology and innovation, Signal 8 remains committed to delivering high-quality services that are executed right the first time, every time. They thank their clients, colleagues and partners for their continued trust, and they look forward to “writing this next chapter together.”
