Karl Azzopardi has joined Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz as Director of Sales and Marketing, he shared on Monday.
This marks his return to the hospitality industry, having spent a year working at creative digital marketing agency Keen Ltd, where he served as Account Manager. During that time, his main duties involved communicating with existing or new clients to develop their account and coordinating with other agency departments to create and implement marketing campaigns.
His prior experience includes various years of experience in the hotel business, including General Manager at Hotel Ta’ Ċenc & Spa, Cesca Boutique Hotel, Paradise Bay Resort, and Saint Patrick’s Hotel.
Mr Azzopardi was also Operations Manager at Waterfront Hotel for more than a year, and Sales Technology & Property Management Systems Manager at Corinthia Hotels Limited for over four years.
He describes himself as a “self-driven, dedicated, and goal-oriented person” with a track record for managing and delivering projects up to specifications, and holds high standards in his work ethic.
Mr Azzopardi holds a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing, Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia from ICE Malta and a Certificate of Human Resources Management and Personnel Administration from Lead Training Services Malta.
Kempisnki Hotel San Lawrenz is a five-star hotel in Gozo that first opened its doors in 1999 under the name San Lawrenz Leisure Resort. Kempinski Hotel Group took over the management in 2001 and today it is an internationally renowned resort with 141 rooms, suites, and apartments.
