KM Malta Airlines, in collaboration with Centrecom Ltd, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) to establish a structured partnership focused on education, training, and workforce development within Malta’s aviation industry.

The agreement sets out a framework for closer collaboration between the three organisations, with the aim of ensuring that academic programmes remain aligned with the evolving demands of the aviation sector.

KM Malta Airlines Chief Officer People & Culture, Robert Fenech, tells MaltaCEOs.mt that the agreement reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to developing local talent and supporting the sector’s long-term sustainability.

“We are pleased that this prospect will give students the opportunity to gain practical industry exposure. It also ensures that academic curriculum remain aligned with the evolving needs of the aviation industry. We are committed to supporting the ongoing professional development of students preparing to enter the aviation workforce.”

Through the partnership, MCAST students will gain increased access to real-world aviation environments, including exposure to technologies and operational systems currently in use within the industry. The collaboration will also explore opportunities for structured apprenticeships and entry-level roles, allowing students to transition more seamlessly into employment.

The initiative is expected to bridge the gap between classroom-based learning and operational industry requirements, equipping students with practical, job-ready skills.

Centrecom Ltd is also expected to play a key role in facilitating industry exposure and training opportunities, contributing to a more integrated approach between education providers and aviation operators.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr Fenech, Centrecom CEO Robert Spiteri, and MCAST Principal and CEO Stephen Vella.
