As the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to impact lives and livelihoods, staying optimistic could be far easier said than done, despite a sense that life on the islands is slowly starting to gain a sense of normality.
Daniel Abela, Executive Chairman at Business Ventures Group, has appealed for everyone to “be kinder to one another” in these persistently difficult times, adding he is “somewhat perplexed that despite the difficulties we have all faced in the last year, instead of becoming more understanding I’m finding we are becoming more self-centred.”
“Just remember that there are so many people who are in a worse predicament than ourselves,” he added.
Mr Abela shared his message against the backdrop of a kind gesture on behalf of his company to the Children in Need Foundation, where a laptop was donated that will be given to a child living at Fondazzjoni Sebh home.
“Helping children who for some reason are in some sort of difficulty will always remain the one thing that makes me feel proudest as a human being. This is what I want and need to do more of.”
