Headhunter and recruitment specialist Fran Moisa has earmarked the different signals that employees might give out when they are facing burnout, along with the best means to reduce it.

In a social media post shared on Monday, she pointed towards a decrease in productivity as an indicator of possible burnout.

She added that “apathy and reduced engagement”, along with a “snappy” attitude all hint that employees are getting tired from their daily routine.

As a result, Ms Moisa opted to list three different ways through which employers can help solve the issue.

“Ask them to take some time off. No judgement and no backhanded kindness,” she said, before suggesting saying something along the lines of “I noticed you are not yourself. Would you like some time off, no questions asked”.

She also suggested having a “heart to heart” conversation with the employee in question outside of the office space, taking the time to “listen to them”.

Lastly, she added that it is important to “check the workload” to see if there is anything that is “misaligned” in that respect.

Over the course of her career, Ms Moisa has amassed more than 12 years of experience in recruitment, which culminated in the founding of her own talent advisory boutique consultancy, FM Search. The firm partners with businesses at different stages to help them access specific skills in highly competitive markets.
