Mr Bugeja is joined by Antoine Sciberras, Chief Officer of the MCA’s Spectrum Management & Technology Unit.

The 2023 edition of the landmark event is focusing on a number of key themes that only growing more important.

These include 5G innovation, intelligent digital transformation, the new regulatory context for quality of service and quality of experience, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, openRAN technologies, sustainability, and the green digital transition, as well as a vision for 6G.

Speaking to BusinessNow last year, Mr Bugeja said that the regulatory landscape for digital services in the EU “is being fundamentally redefined” through a number of legislative initiatives.

“We find ourselves very much conversant in dealing with, and enforcing, the framework of communications regulation. However, as these frameworks continue to be modernised, so as to remain relevant to address emerging challenges in communication markets, it’s a completely different ball game when it comes to the new digital regulation.”
