Malta’s entrepreneurial community recently came together for an evening of engaging discussions, networking, and valuable insights during the Future Founders Plus (FPEI) event on 23rd January.
Hosted at the Valletta Design Cluster, the event, titled ‘Entrepreneurs on the Rock – Challenges and Opportunities for the Business-Minded in Malta’, focused on the realities of running a local business while highlighting both the challenges and opportunities that shape the island’s dynamic business landscape.
The event featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Joe Tanti, FPEI Chair, Abigail Agius Mamo, business coach, and Jonathan Mifsud, a successful entrepreneur. The informal panel discussion, moderated by Giselle Borg Olivier, FPEI Foundation Manager, provided attendees with candid insights into starting and growing a business in Malta. The speakers shared their personal experiences, offering advice on how to navigate obstacles like access to finance, business planning, and the importance of collaboration.
Mr Tanti shared his perspective on the evolution of the local business scene, drawing from his extensive experience mentoring entrepreneurs. Ms Agius Mamo addressed the misconceptions many entrepreneurs face when launching a business, while Mr Mifsud spoke about his startup journey and the power of local collaboration.
The event also provided an invaluable opportunity for networking, connecting a broad spectrum of Malta’s business community, including freelancers, startup founders, microentrepreneurs, and seasoned professionals. With refreshments provided by The Happy Baker and Piccini wines, attendees were able to form meaningful connections and explore potential collaborations within the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Malta.
The event marked the launch of the 2025 calendar for FPEI’s Future Founders Plus community, setting the stage for another year of growth, collaboration, and innovation.
FPEI’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs in Malta continues with its monthly events, including the next webinar on 20th February: Build Your Brand (on a Budget).
