Marie Lou Cassar has taken on an expanded leadership role within Aon, having been appointed Regional Hub Leader responsible for supporting the company's captive operations across Malta, the Netherlands, Gibraltar, Switzerland and Abu Dhabi.
Announcing the appointment, Ms Cassar said she is looking forward to driving captive growth, strengthening client value and continuing to develop high-performing teams across Aon's regional hubs.
Ms Cassar brings three decades of experience in Malta's financial services sector to the role, including the last 17 years specialising in captive insurance management and cross-border operations.
According to her professional profile, her career has evolved from technical and regulatory roles into senior leadership positions, where she has focused on building high-performing teams, delivering sustainable growth, and supporting boards on governance, compliance and operational matters.
She describes herself as being passionate about developing people, strengthening client relationships and ensuring captives deliver measurable long-term value.
Ms Cassar joined Aon in 2022 as Managing Director of Aon Insurance Managers (Malta) PCC Limited and has spent nearly four years with the global professional services firm.
Prior to joining Aon, she spent more than four years at WTW (Willis Towers Watson), where she served as Head of Office in Malta. During her tenure, she also held the role of Operations Director and sat on the board of directors, among other leadership positions.
Ahead of the event, Mr Debono encouraged guests to make a donation to the Richmond Foundation.
