The Director of Ta’ Detta Restaurant, Oswald Scicluna, has passed away.

The announcement was made Sunday 8th September 2024 by the social media channel of the Valletta Waterfront’s where the restaurant is situated.

“Oswald will be fondly remembered for his analytical, compassionate and kind presence”, they wrote, while sending their condolences to Mr Scicluna’s family, friends, and co-workers.

Mr Scicluna managed the restaurant with his brother, while the establishment was named after their sister, Odette, who sadly passed away in 2008.

Many shared their condolences, as well as memories shared with Mr Scicluna, and that they will always remember his smile.

Non-Executive Director of Luxury Living Finance, Count Chevalier Anthony C. Coleiro, wrote on his social media reminiscing the times they shared together. “I hope you knew how much you were loved and appreciated. I’ll always hold you close to my heart, and I’ll never forget the impact you had on my life. I do not have words to express my grief to such a sudden loss. I will never forget those moments of happiness and sorrowful that we used to share”, he recalled.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday 10th September (tomorrow) at 4pm, at the Luqa Parish Church.
