Panta has announced the appointment of Alan Schembri as its new Group Financial Controller, bringing more than two decades of experience in finance and operations management to the organisation.

In his new role, Mr Schembri will oversee the financial strategy and operations of the group. Known for his strategic mindset and result-oriented approach, he is particularly passionate about creating long-term value by identifying disruption, managing risk, and reshaping business models for sustainable growth.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr Schembri began his career in 2002 as a junior auditor and accountant at EY, before moving on to serve as Senior Auditor at Vincent Curmi & Associates. He went on to spend over eight years with GlaxoSmithKline, where he held senior positions in finance and logistics.

His career then took him overseas, where he worked as CFO and General Manager at Corinthia Construction Overseas Ltd and Bengashir Concrete Manufacturing in Libya. Returning to Malta a year later, he joined Farsons Group as Group Financial Controller, a role he held for more than five years.

Following this, Mr Schembri was appointed CFO at M&Z Ltd and later moved to The Convenience Shop, where he also served as Chief Financial Officer for over four years.

Welcoming him to the team, Panta stated that Mr Schembri “is passionate about creating future value by recognising disruption, managing risk, and shaping business models for growth.”
