Paula Mamo has been appointed Company Secretary with HSBC Bank Malta, effective as of 1st May 2022.

HSBC said that Dr Mamo had served as Deputy Company Secretary since February 2018 and was appointed Company Secretary for the two subsidiary companies of the bank, HSBC Life Assurance (Malta) Ltd and HSBC Global Asset Management (Malta) Limited in May 2018.

A graduate of the University of Malta as Doctor of Laws, prior to joining HSBC Dr Mamo progressed through a number of roles, primarily within legal, regulatory compliance and financial crime compliance, with other licensed financial institutions.

She was appointed Company Secretary for HSBC Bank Malta after the outgoing secretary, George Brancaleone, announced his retirement.

Dr Brancaleone joined the bank in 1980 and became one of its legal advisors in 1988 and was subsequently appointed as the bank’s Company Secretary in 2004. The Board of Directors expressed its sincere gratitude towards Dr Brancaleone, for his outstanding, long and loyal service to the bank over the past 42 years.
