RSM Malta has announced the appointment of Dr Roberta Buhagiar as Director responsible for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).

Dr Buhagiar holds a Doctorate of Law from the University of Malta and began her career at a boutique law firm, where she practised for seven years. She later specialised in regulatory compliance and, over the past decade, has led the Compliance Function for various licensed entities in the financial services sector.

In her new role at RSM Malta, Dr Buhagiar will oversee the firm’s GRC function, which supports organisations in implementing integrated strategies that address regulatory obligations, manage risk and enhance internal governance frameworks.

“I believe that teamwork and respect are key towards driving excellence,” said Dr Buhagiar. “My commitment is to remain at the forefront of regulatory developments and, together with our team, uphold the RSM standards.”

Welcoming the appointment, Karen Spiteri Bailey, Managing Partner at RSM Malta, said: “Dr Buhagiar brings a wealth of experience and insight to the firm. Her leadership will further strengthen our GRC services and reinforce our focus on delivering value and trust to clients.”

RSM is a network of audit, tax and consulting experts with offices all over the world.
