Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates recently announced the appointment of Steve Muscat Azzopardi as Director of Corporate and Trust Services.

Senior Partner at Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates Priscilla Mifsud-Parker stated that Mr Muscat Azzopardi “has demonstrated versatility, commercial awareness, technical soundness and leadership through his tenure at Chetcuti Cauchi, and truly deserves recognition for the quality and effectiveness of our corporate and trust practice.”

Commenting on his appointment, he stated that in a life that has become increasingly hectic and demanding, both at work and at home, he commends the firm for offering “a wonderful work-life balance through the many measures and benefits in place to prioritise physical and mental wellbeing.”

Mr Muscat Azzopardi obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree specialising in Management and Banking and Finance, from the University of Malta in 2001. He commenced his career at an English IFA and trustee firm in Malta, catering primarily to British expatriates.

Upon Malta’s accession to the EU in 2004, he relocated to Luxembourg, where he contributed his expertise to a Private Wealth Assurance Firm. He went on to collaborate with Europe’s top private banks and family offices in the realm of Pan-European HWI Private bancassurance business.

Later, he expanded to consultancy services to international corporate and private clients, focusing on operational restructuring, project management, compliance, and corporate governance. In the meantime, he assumed board positions in select companies including insurance brokerage cell, an online gaming company, and a financing operation.

He joined the Malta office of a European Trust and Corporate provider in 2016 that saw him overseeing Trust and Corporate Services until he was invited to lead the respective department at Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates in 2017.

Mr Muscat Azzopardi holds a membership at the Malta Institute of Financial Services Professionals (IFSP) and is a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).
