Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech reiterated his commitment “to create a sustainable film industry, with new opportunities for all,” as the country hosts the team behind major production ‘Hounds of War.’

During a set visit, Mr Grech and Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo revealed that this film has an estimated total budget of €6.5 million to be spent in Malta.

‘Hounds of War’ is currently being shot in various locations around the island, including the Naxxar Trade Fair Grounds, the Jerma Hotel site, and Valletta.

“We have strengthened our cash rebate programme so that more international and local productions can benefit from Malta’s incentives,” Mr Grech said.

“We want to create careers, having better wages for our local crew,” he continued.

The Film Commissioner went on to reveal that around 220 individuals are working on this production, the majority being local crew.
