Albert Cilia on Sunday announced that he has been named European Regional Director – Funds at trust and fund administration firm Trident Trust.
He will also continue to serve as the company’s Managing Director of Malta, a position he has held since 2016.
“I look forward to continue working with all the colleagues locally, in the region and globally to achieve our goals and assist our clients in achieving their ambitions,” Mr Cilia shared.
Founded in 1978, Trident Trust is a corporate, fiduciary, and fund administrator, with over 900 staff employed across its operations in Africa, the Americas, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. Its services include the provision of independent corporate, trust and fund administration, relying on its global presence, knowledge of local economies and “commitment to responsiveness, reliability, attention to detail and personal service”. Its offices in Birkirkara, Malta were established in 2011 and it employs over 65 staff locally.
Aside from his time at Trident Trust, Mr Cilia also has a wide range of experience within the fund and trust sectors from other companies, having also worked as Head of Corporate Services at Alter Domus Malta for two-and-a-half-years, and Manager at Ganado Trustees & Fiduciaries Ltd for over two years. He also spent two years as Managing Director at Custom House Global Fund Services Ltd and Equity Trust Malta Ltd.
His experience also includes over a year as Senior Executive Manager at International Insurance Management Services Ltd, and 12 years as Assistant to Audit Manager at PwC Malta.
A hedge funds and due diligence specialist, Mr Cilia is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
