On Tuesday (today), Andre Vella announced that he will be stepping down from his position as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at UK-based software company Paddle.

“My time has come to step away from Paddle. Describing the last four years as an amazing journey is an understatement,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

Paddle is a complete payment infrastructure provider for Software as a Service (SaaS) companies.

He was based in London, United Kingdom, and had been working at the company since 2020.

Further commenting on his departure, Mr Vella highlighted that past and present ‘Paddlers’ have been among the most talented people he ever worked with.

“I’ve had the privilege to work on a multitude of challenges, a ton of opportunities to learn and a [have] a supportive environment to mature personally and professionally,” he continued.

Looking back, Mr Vella shared that he is proud of what the team achieved and finds himself with lots of memories of the good times.

“I will keep waving the Paddle flag proudly and remain a massive fan and friend,” he concluded.

Mr Vella has a Bachelor of Science in IT (Hons), Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Malta.

Throughout his career he has gained years of experience working in various tech-related positions. He had served as Engineering Manager at Betsson Group in Malta for over a year, before he then relocated to Berlin, Germany to serve as Head of Data Engineering at Wimdu, Director of Engineering at home24 SE, as well as CTO and Chief Technology and Product Officer at heycar. (edited)
