Andrea Farrugia has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) at 1926 Collection, marking a new chapter for the Maltese hospitality group as it continues to strengthen its operational leadership.

Mr Farrugia brings with him broad, hands-on experience across front office operations, food and beverage, project management and hotel leadership. A graduate of the University of Malta and the Institute of Tourism Studies, he completed his studies in 2009 and has since built a career spanning both local and international hospitality environments.

He began his professional journey as a food and beverage attendant at Radisson Blu, where he spent five years gaining operational grounding, before moving into a management trainee role with Marriott Hotels. His career path later saw him take on restaurant management responsibilities at Lulu Restaurant, as well as front office supervisor and night manager roles in Brussels, further broadening his international exposure.

More recently, Mr Farrugia served as Hotel Manager at Hyatt Centric Malta, where he was responsible for overseeing hotel operations and service delivery within a lifestyle-focused hospitality setting.

In his new role as COO, Mr Farrugia will oversee operations across the 1926 Collection portfolio, which includes 1926 Le Soleil, 1926 Les Bains, 1926 Le Parisot and 1926 La Galerie, as well as the group’s food and beverage outlets Le GV, Margaux and Sunny’s Lounge.
