Andreas Shakallis

The Board of Directors of Lifestar Insurance Ltd has announced the appointment of Andreas Shakallis as the new Chairman of the Committee, effective immediately, following a meeting held on 31st January 2025.

Mr Shakallis brings extensive experience in actuarial science, risk management, and insurance operations. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science, he holds a BSc in Actuarial Science (1990) and an MSc in Operational Research (1991). His distinguished career includes serving as President of the Cyprus Association of Actuaries from 2001 to 2004.

With years of leadership in the insurance sector, Mr Shakallis has held key roles in actuarial and general management within a leading Cypriot life insurance company. In 2020, he founded Principle I.B. Consultants Ltd (Principle IBC), a consultancy firm specialising in insurance organisations, where he currently serves as Managing Director and Chief Business Consultant.

His appointment follows the tenure of Joseph Schembri, who has chaired the Committee since 2021. The Board expressed its appreciation for Mr Schembri’s contributions, noting that he will remain a committee member, bringing his expertise in accounting.

The Committee is now composed of Andreas Shakallis as Chairman, Joseph Schembri and Mark Bamber.
