Valletta Legal Partner Anna Maria Zammit has been re-elected as Trustee on the Board of The Hospital Saturday Fund.

She will retain her position for the upcoming term, for the next three years.

“It’s an honour to have the opportunity to contribute to the charitable sector and particularly this charity in what will surely be an extremely rewarding role,” she commented on LinkedIn.

The Hospital Saturday Fund (HSF) is a UK-based charity and health plan provider founded in 1873 to support people who could not afford medical care.

It provides assistance for registered health charities, hospices, medical organisations and individuals with a medical condition or disability. Furthermore, it provides grants for medical projects, care, research or the support of medical training within the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, the Republic of Ireland and Malta.

The trading companies of the charity offer low-cost health plans to employers supporting their employee’s wellbeing. This includes cover for everyday health expenses such as dental, optical, and general practitioner appointments alongside other medical costs.

Its first grants in Malta were made to the Malta Trust Foundation, donating €30,000 towards its Sunrise Project, a mental health home-support service in Gozo, and to the Emanuele Cancer Research Foundation.
