Floriana-based Citadel Insurance plc has welcomed Joseph Micallef as Senior Manager within its motor claims department.

Established in 1997, Citadel Insurance is the first Maltese entity to convert from an insurance agency into an insurance company, with its roots dating back to November 1989. Back then, it was known as Citadel Insurance Services Ltd.

Citadel Insurance went on to further expand its portfolio in October 2011, wherein it established its subsidiary, Citadel Health Insurance Agency Ltd, to transact health insurance products. Less than five years later, the company started offering private medical insurance as part of its product range.

Mr Micallef announced his appointment on social media earlier this week.

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Manager – Motor Claims Department at Citadel Insurance plc. I wish to thank all my previous colleagues at Finance House plc,” he wrote.

“It was a great eight-year experience from which I gained a lot,” he added.

His latest stint at Finance House plc – a financial services company based in Zebbug – saw him serve as ann Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
