Clive Camilleri recently announced that he has been appointed Head of People Technology and Operations at UK-headquartered Zopa Bank.

First launched in 2005 as the world’s first peer-to-peer lending company, Zopa Bank obtained a banking licence in 2020. The peer-to-peer lending business closed in 2021, and it now offers personal loans, car finance, credit cards, savings accounts, and money management tools.

“The warm welcome and incredible energy from the team are truly inspiring,” Mr Camilleri said in his announcement.

He also expressed his excitement at having the opportunity to work with the team and to make a positive impact in this new chapter in his career.

Mr Camilleri has over a decade of experience working in human resources (HR) and people operations, primarily on evolving employee experiences and employee lifecycle management.

Prior to his newest position, he was Head of People Operations at mobile development platform Bitrise for more than a year. In that role, he led the strategic development of global HR initiatives.

His experience also includes five years at global payments company Trustly, where he served as Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Partner and HR and People Operations Manager, as well as three years at Castille Resources, working in a number of recruitment-related positions.

Aside from HR and recruitment, Mr Camilleri also had experiences working in customer support at HSBC Bank Malta, La Redoute and Insignia Group.

He holds a number of certifications in HR management, web design and front end development, as well as data analysis.
