Entrepreneur Mariella Camilleri firmly believes that a big part of why women make stronger leaders is because softs skills come naturally to them.
Speaking of a shift in employee paradigm, especially in relation to the higher value that companies and employers are giving to soft skills, Ms Camilleri points to the fact that this is “one of the main reasons a high number of companies with higher participation of women in senior management positions are more successful in many ways.”
The Cammar Enterprises Co-Owner and President made reference to a recent social media post shared by American Coaching and Leadership Development professional Kathryn Coyle who insisted that in coaching one must never “take the person out of the professional.”
According to her, “these are the hard human skills that can’t be taught, they have to be learned through self-reflection, awareness, experience, and habit forming.”
Highlighting how “soft skills are second nature to them,” Ms Camilleri uses this as an example to stress that women employers and employees automatically make more successful contributions to the workforce.
Ms Camilleri currently also serves as President of Business and Professional Women (BPW Malta), which forms part of BPW International. This is one of the most influential international networks of business and professional women with affiliates in over 100 countries in five continents.
