easyJet Engineering has appointed Melissa Schembri as its new Head of Human Resources.
Ms Schembri brings more than 15 years of experience in human resources and people strategy, with a track record of aligning workforce planning with broader business objectives.
In her new role, a key area of focus for her will be the continued digitalisation of the People function, including simplifying internal processes, improving data visibility, and exploring practical applications of artificial intelligence within HR operations.
The company says that “outside of work, [Ms Schembri] is a proud mother of three boys and volunteers in initiatives supporting children with disabilities or illnesses. She also enjoys walking and travelling with her family.”
Prior to joining easyJet Engineering, Ms Schembri served as Head of People and Culture at Inspire Foundation. She also held roles in human resources at Melita. Earlier in her career, she spent eight years at TELUS, where she progressed from credit and risk assessment and client account management roles to a managerial position.
Ms Schembri is described as a people and culture leader with an emphasis on building strong organisational environments and enabling teams to perform. Her leadership approach is characterised by a focus on clarity, fairness, and trust.
