FIMBank has announced the appointment of Edward Engerer as its Group Chief Internal Auditor.

He will be taking on the role after Johann Schembri’s who resigned from the post.

According to a company announcement, Mr Engerer is a seasoned audit and finance professional with over 15 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and holds an ACCA qualification.

Before joining the Bank, Mr Engerer acquired extensive experience during his occupation with Deloitte Malta as senior auditor in the Banking sector. He also led audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients for Anton Chetcuti Ganado & Associates.

Mr Engerer joined the Bank in August 2019 and plays a “pivotal role” in overseeing the integrity of internal controls, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. He also supports the Board Audit Committee with strategic insights.
