"Very few generations have the privilege of taking a company into its second century. We do,” said Michael Farrugia, Group Chief Executive of Farsons Group.
His comments were made at The Cause for Applause employee recognition programme that recently brought together colleagues from across the Farsons Group to celebrate individuals "whose commitment, professionalism and dedication continue to strengthen the organisation's culture and success," wrote the company in a statement.
Cause for Applause comprises two distinct recognition programmes: the STRIDE Recognition Awards, which are based on the group's core values and recognise employees nominated by management teams, and the Peer-to-Peer Recognition Awards, which celebrate employees nominated directly by their colleagues.
This year, the programme attracted a total of 37 management nominations for the STRIDE Recognition Awards and 81 peer-to-peer nominations, reflecting a workplace culture where colleagues actively acknowledge and appreciate one another's contributions. The STRIDE nominations were evaluated by the group's Senior Leadership Team led by Mr Farrugia, while the peer-to-peer awards were assessed by an employee committee representing different areas of the business.
“Very few generations have the privilege of taking a company into its second century. We do And with that unique opportunity comes the responsibility to remain true to the culture and values that define us, and to leave Farsons stronger for those who come after us," said Mr Farrugia.
The event marked the first Cause for Applause celebration hosted by Mr Farrugia in his role. Reflecting on the occasion, he described the programme as an opportunity to recognise the people whose efforts and commitment continue to shape the organisation. He then highlighted the importance of preserving the culture and values that have supported the group's growth over the decades, noting that Farsons' success has always been built on the commitment of its people, their willingness to support one another and their determination to continuously improve.
The STRIDE Recognition Awards recognised employees across the group's six core values of Success, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Dynamism and Excellence, with award recipients representing a diverse range of business functions including logistics, manufacturing, sales, finance, hospitality, marketing, corporate services and human resources.

The Peer-to-Peer Recognition Awards were presented under the categories of Positive Influencer and Quiet Leadership, recognising employees whose actions, leadership and support of others have had a meaningful impact on colleagues and workplace culture.
