Richard Samuel has joined EBO.ai as Director of Healthcare Strategy, CEO Gege Gatt announced.

Throughout his career Mr Samuel had held high-profile roles including being National Health Service (NHS) England Director and Chief Executive. On LinkedIn, he shared his commitment to driving innovation and transformation for the benefit of citizens. Additionally, he has been part of a number of national innovation initiatives working across the health and care sectors.

With over three decades of leadership experience within the NHS, he will be spearheading EBO’s new initiative to integrate behavioural science and AI, driving cohesion between EBO technologies and the NHS App while bringing vendors together under a standardised patient-facing interface.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Gatt said that “with a clear vision to place patients at the heart of healthcare,” Mr Samuel is leading the development of its AI-powered healthcare navigators, “innovative tools designed to deliver personalised, proactive, and scalable care.”

“This bold initiative aligns perfectly with the NHS Long Term Plan, leveraging AI to drive prevention, early intervention, and better patient outcomes,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mr Samuel added that placing the person at the heart of the service and in control of their care is essential.
