In a move that further positions Hatten M&A Advisory at the crossroads of East and West, Alex Sun has been appointed as International Partner to support Chinese investors exploring opportunities in Malta and Europe.

“At Hatten M&A Advisory, we believe collaboration goes beyond networking – it’s about creating strategic value and expanding our reach to better serve our clients,” said Jonathan Shaw, Partner at Hatten. “With Mr Sun, we feel confident that we can also cater for a specific strong niche and client profile.”

Mr Sun is a cross-cultural business advisor specialising in EU funding frameworks and China-Malta investment partnerships, with academic credentials in Banking, Finance, and Management from the University of Malta. Over the past decade, he has founded several ventures across immigration consultancy, digital marketing, corporate digitisation, and EU grant applications.

Fluent in Mandarin and deeply familiar with the Maltese business landscape, he brings a unique edge to Chinese investors looking to navigate EU markets. He plays a pivotal role in assisting startups and businesses with EU grant access and acquisitions of established European companies, particularly leveraging funding mechanisms such as Horizon Europe.

His focus on cross-border M&A blends Chinese strategic goals with European regulatory compliance, ensuring transactions are both efficient and aligned with funding cycles and long-term business objectives.
