yasmin de giorgio

Malta-based company Shireburn Software has announced the appointment of Yasmin de Giorgio as its new CEO, effective 1st August.

Ms de Giorgio will be replacing Shireburn Software’s founder John de Giorgio, who will be moving into a non-executive leadership role as Chairman of the board.

“Although taking on the role of CEO comes with many duties, the one I will carry forward most consciously is the sense of integrity towards our clients that both my father and Franco [Galea] have championed over the years,” the newly appointed CEO said.

After founding three successful businesses within five years, Ms de Giorgio has earned recognition as a serial entrepreneur. She is particularly passionate about personal development and mentorship – so much so that she has spent the last ten years building start-up businesses in innovative fields.

“Shireburn was built on this principle [of integrity], and until this day many of the strategic decisions we take are informed by these relationships of trust with our clients. It is a value I am extremely proud to inherit from both [John de Giorgio and Franco Galea] and one I will carry forward sincerely,” Ms de Giorgio said.

One of Ms de Giorgio’s best-known projects is undoubtedly the Sanya Eco Spa. Despite her ever-growing involvement with Shireburn Software, she still believes that the spa will “remain a pillar of [her] life.”

“I am grateful to my team at Sanya for doing such an amazing job at running the show since I have been part of the Shireburn leadership team for some time, without significant impact to our operations at Sanya,” Ms de Giorgio said.

“It also helps to know that I have a secret weapon to draw upon in ensuring my own work life balance, with Sanya’s sensory deprivation tank,” she continued.

Former CEO John de Giorgio marked this appointment as the “[start] of a new cycle” for the company.

Shireburn Software specialises in assisting clients to identify improvement opportunities in their business processes and addressing them through the development of application and software solutions.
