KM Malta Airlines has marked a significant milestone in its journey as Malta’s national carrier, celebrating one year of operations since its inaugural flight took off on 31st March 2024.

Reflecting on the airline’s first anniversary, Executive Chairman David Curmi expressed “immense pride and gratitude” for the company’s progress and the dedication of its workforce. “From pilots to cabin crew, engineers to ground staff, every individual plays a crucial role in ensuring each journey is seamless and enjoyable,” he shared in a post published on Monday.

Since launching its operations, KM Malta Airlines has established connectivity to 16 major airports across 15 key European cities. According to Mr Curmi, the airline has achieved a 100 per cent flight completion ratio during this period – a notable feat for any carrier, particularly in its first year.

He attributed this success to the “unwavering dedication” of the entire team and the “trust placed in us by our valued passengers.”

Positioning itself as a strategic link between Malta and Europe, KM Malta Airlines has focused on enhancing connectivity to key cities, both for passengers and cargo. Mr Curmi reaffirmed that the airline’s primary focus remains “on connecting Malta with major European capitals, key passenger and cargo hubs,” while also extending global reach “through strategic partnerships with other airlines via codeshare and interline agreements.”

In his message, Mr Curmi also thanked the airline’s customers for their continued support. “I want to express my heartfelt thanks to our customers for choosing to fly with us. Your trust and support are invaluable to us, and we remain dedicated to offering you a delightful travel experience,” he said.

The national airline, which replaced Air Malta after its final flight last year, continues to represent a new chapter in Maltese aviation, with reliability and strong partnerships at the heart of its operations.
