In her role as CEO at Tech.mt, Dana Farrugia and her team are trusted with promoting the national strategy for technology and innovation.

Speaking in the latest edition of iGaming Capital, the CEO notes how her appointment “[was] some that [she] worked hard for throughout [her] career.”

“Being entrusted to drive Malta’s momentum in the tech sector was such a proud moment. My mission is to ensure economic prosperity and growth for the technology  sector in Malta,” she says.

“As the digital revolution accelerates, we ai to position the country as an attractive working destination within the European tech industry. Tech.mt also aims to grow local tech companies that want to expand their business in the country,” the CEO continues.

Having worked in the telecommunications industry for 14 years, Ms Farrugia’s current position sees her working in the areas of AI, software development, robotics, and cyber security – amongst many others.

“Looking ahead, we must develop and use digital solutions to thrive in key digital infrastructure,” the Tech.mt CEO highlights.

“The Government has invested over €3 million to position Malta as a global technology hub of excellence. Further investment will doubtlessly position the island as a digital powerhouse within Europe,” she concludes.
