Karen Spiteri Bailey RSM Malta

RSM Malta on Wednesday (today) announced that Karen Spiteri Bailey has taken over leadership of the firm as its new Managing Partner.

As a result, she replaces George Gregory, who announced his intention to retire from the position on Monday. A few hours later, he was appointed CEO at Malta Enterprise.

Ms Spiteri Bailey will now have full responsibility for the leadership and development of RSM Malta’s business, and will thus play a key role in meeting the firm’s growth goals. She will also be instrumental in building on the firm’s reputation with professionals and clients.

She has over 30 years of professional services experience, including nine years at RSM Malta. Ms Spiteri Bailey therefore brings a strong skillset and a reputation for relationship building, high performance and team leadership to the position.

RSM Malta stated that she joins at a “key point in the firm’s growth,” as it increases its client portfolio.

Ms Spiteri Bailey, a certified public accountant and auditor, has a wealth of experience, having led teams in the fields of accounting, VAT services and payroll. She has also held leadership roles in the industry. She co-founded Spiteri Bailey & Co, which subsequently merged with RSM Malta in 2016.

RSM Malta added that her leadership philosophy is centred around creating an inclusive environment where “team members feel empowered to share ideas.”

In her comments following the appointment, Ms Spiteri Bailey expressed gratitude to her predecessor Mr Gregory for his years of service to the firm, before wishing him well in his future endeavours.

“I am delighted to accept this new role and I wholeheartedly thank my fellow Partners for their trust,” she remarked.

“My strategic objective is to passport my personal passion throughout this new journey, constantly upholding our values, and working with our talented team to continue growing the firm,” she added.

Ms Spiteri Bailey said that as RSM Malta’s business continues to grow and its range of services expands, the firm will be investing in its employees to reflect its ambition to become a leader in its field.
