“I didn’t set any expectations, I just wanted to start… and I’ve fitted in like a glove,” Mr Abela wrote on social media.

“Gopuff is raw, young, and ambitious. It’s like moving into your new home – when there’s a lot of exciting work to be done,” he continued.

Mr Abela holds decades of experience in the international financial sector. Prior to his appointment at Gopuff, he held several managerial and finance-related roles at global e-commerce giant Amazon.

His last position before joining Gopuff was that of Finance Manager for Amazon Web Services – a role he held for upwards of two years.

Gopuff was co-founded by Rafael Ilishayev and Yakir Gola in 2013 back when the two were still sophomores at Philadelphia’s Drexel University.
