Serial entrepreneur Luca Arrigo has announced his new role as CEO and Co-Founder of BetterStudio, a company set to revolutionise AI-driven fashion photography for Shopify stores.

The venture follows the acquisition of his brand, aimodelagency.com, by AI headshot innovator BetterPic earlier this year.

Mr Arrigo’s journey into AI fashion photography began two years ago, as he explored ways to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of high-quality model imagery for fashion e-commerce. Recognising BetterPic’s superior AI technology for headshots, he saw an opportunity to pivot their innovation into a new business model.

“It was clear to me that their company had developed the best-in-class solution for AI headshots in a crowded space and was emerging as the market leader,” Mr Arrigo shared on LinkedIn. “Together, we instinctively realised that we could team up and pivot their technology to a new business model – one that I have been studying and validating for two years.”

By February, an agreement was reached for BetterPic to acquire aimodelagency.com, and the partners officially launched BetterStudio. Now, with a recently appointed CTO and CMO, the company is set on becoming the number one Shopify app for AI fashion photography.

In an interview at the E-commerce Berlin Expo, Mr Arrigo highlighted the potential of BetterStudio’s technology: “What we’re doing is offering a very efficient solution for fashion Shopify stores to turn their flat-pack and on-mannequin photography of their fashion garments into on-model photos. When I started two years ago, the quality of AI imagery was not so good, but today, it’s sometimes even better than traditional studio photography. Where you would normally spend €50-€100 per product image, you are now only spending one dollar.”

With e-commerce brands continuously seeking ways to optimise operations and reduce costs, BetterStudio’s offering is poised to disrupt the industry by making high-quality, on-model fashion photography more accessible than ever.
