Malta Maritime Forum Chairman Godwin Xerri has hailed the Malta as a “regional maritime hub of excellence across multiple complementary services, including ship registration.”
The Malta Maritime Forum celebrated a decade of progress at Magazino Hall, Valletta Cruise Port.
Speaking at the event, Mr Xerri paid tribute to the forum’s founders and predecessors, Ann Fenech, Jospeh Bugeja, Joe Borg and Joseph Zammit McKeon, noting the organisation’s role as a consultative body for Malta’s maritime authorities.
He described the forum’s role as both advising the authorities and serving as a body they turn to for guidance.
“The forum’s work has helped safeguard Malta’s attractiveness as a regional maritime hub of excellence, including in ship registration,” he said.
Mr Xerri also highlighted the upcoming National Maritime Transport Strategy, which the forum has actively promoted.
This strategy will provide a clear vision for the industry, defining goals, resources, and milestones for the future, he added.
The forum reaffirmed its commitment to representing Malta’s maritime industry and strengthening the country’s position as a leading Mediterranean maritime centre.
