The Convenience Shop Group CEO Martin Agius has stepped down from his role with immediate effect on Thursday, 4th September.
Announcing the change in leadership through the Malta Stock Exchange, the company attributed the resignation to personal health reasons.
To replace the outgoing CEO, Joseph Pace, one of the group Founders, will be taking his place on an interim basis until another person is found to fill the role.
The company thanked him for his valuable contributions to the group during his tenure and wished him well for the future.
Mr Agius had joined the company in late 2018 after more than 15 years working in hospitality and over 25 years in manufacturing. He had spent over two decades as Sales and Marketing Manager at General Soft Drinks.
During his tenure at The Convenience Shop, he held a pivotal role in restructuring the company, overseeing everything from corporate governance to daily operations.
In an earlier interview with MaltaCEOs.mt, Mr Agius had remarked that walking the shop floor helped him understand the pulse and challenges of the day-to-day business.
