Jonathan Shaw

Malta’s own Jonathan Shaw, CEO at Retail Marketing Ltd, is ready to take on ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship which will take place on 5th September 2022 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The announcement was made by Retail Marketing Ltd over the weekend. Speaking of the event, the company said that “ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship is the jewel in the crown and the origin of the sport, [and that] it is considered to be one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world.”

The race consists of a nine kilometre swim in open water, and 61km of trail running. “To finish the ÖTILLÖ course before dusk, the competitors must be very fit and they must be very fast in and out of the water as there are 46 transitions”, the company stated.

Each team is made up of two athletes. Accompanying Mr Shaw on this challenge will be another local athlete, Robin Parnis England. Together they will be racing under the team name ‘Keep it Real’.

In total, 328 teams from around the world will be taking on this challenge. Mr Shaw and Mr Parnis England will be the only Maltese competitors.
