Shoulder Compliance has announced the appointment of Daniella Mizzi as its new Head of Anti-Financial Crime.

Ms Mizzi joins the firm with experience spanning both the public and private sectors. Her background includes enforcement roles at the Maltese Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) and the Central Bank of the UAE, as well as senior compliance leadership positions within the private sector. According to the company, her appointment reflects a focus on strong technical expertise, ethical standards and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to anti-financial crime.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, Shoulder Compliance said it was confident clients would find Ms Mizzi “a highly effective partner” for their compliance and leadership teams.

Founder Charles Cassar also welcomed the appointment, describing Ms Mizzi as aligned with the firm’s ethos. He said she is “technically accomplished, ethical and a problem solver,” adding that her arrival further strengthens the company’s offering in the anti-financial crime space.

Mr Cassar noted that the addition of Ms Mizzi contributes to what he described as “one of the most complete anti-financial crime teams in Malta,” bringing together professionals from legal, banking, economic and accounting backgrounds to support businesses in managing financial crime risks.
