Following the success it had this year, Stephanie Mizzi announced that her project “Artists for Ukraine” will carry on in 2023 as well.

Through this initiative, she managed to collect €20,000 in funds last year, which went for Ukrainian refugees residing in Malta who have been impacted by the war.

Ms Mizzi affirmed that “in 2023 [she] will be working on more Collective Art Exhibitions where [she] will continue to raise funds for various charitable organisations both locally and internationally.”

She stated that she will “also organise private collective exhibitions to promote new artists out there in the field of painting, photography and sculpture.”

Ms Mizzi started “Artists for Ukraine” in March 2022 and since then she has exhibited the work of more than 60 artists at the Cavalieri Art Hotel in St Julian’s.

The exhibition is being curated by Ms Mizzi together with the help of Ġorġ Mallia and Victor Grech.

In his foreword to a book to mark the exhibition, renowned artist and architect Richard England wrote that “Stephanie Mizzi’s and Prof Grech’s request for local and visiting artists to donate works in these two colours should provide ample inspiration.”

“The Maltese islands themselves are but an alchemy of these two pigments: the natural blue opalescence of its surrounding seas and its manmade yellow xanthous masonry structures, as if to echo Van Gogh’s words, there is no blue without yellow”, he added.

Last month, Ms Mizzi was named Senior Corporate Executive at audit, tax, and consultancy firm RSM Malta.

Aside from her roles in administration and account management, Ms Mizzi is a qualified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, as well as a Certified Spinning Instructor, roles she has taken up on a freelance basis at OCR and Mad Dogg Athletics. In addition to this, she is also a freelance translator and proofreader in Maltese, English, Italian and French, specialising in technical documents.
