Josef Mercieca, a prominent local tax expert, has announced that he is joining Quazar, a Malta-based professional services organisation offering corporate, advisory, and professional services.

While the exact nature of his responsibilities has not been confirmed, Mr Mercieca shared on LinkedIn that he will be taking on two new roles with a strong focus on taxation from both a technical and advisory perspective.

“Quazar has welcomed me with open arms,” he said.

“I look forward to the new opportunities, I am ready for the new challenges, and above all, eager to prove myself in this new chapter of my career” he continued.

Mr Mercieca previously served as a tax partner at BDO Malta, where he lead the firm’s tax practice for over ten years.

With more than 18 years of experience in the field, he managed day-to-day tax advice, oversaw client structuring requirements, and supervised the overall deliverables of the tax team.
