Malta Trade Fair

Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) CEO Anita Mifsud has expressed the organisation’s willingness to “keep the Malta Trade Fair alive”, as preparations for the 64th edition commence.

This comes as local supermarket group Welbee’s Supermarket reached an agreement for a strategic partnership with the fair, which is organised and held within the grounds of the MFCC in Ta’ Qali. The event will run from 23rd June through to 2nd July, and will be open daily from 6.30pm till 11.30pm. Over the years, it has always attracted thousands of people, and the collaboration with Welbee’s is a first for both organisations.

The partnership will see customers shopping at Welbee’s during June issued with one free entrance voucher at the Malta Trade Fair. This voucher offer is applicable with any shopping of €33 or over and can be exchange for an entrance ticket. The fair’s visitors will also have the possibility of winning various prizes, including one of two €5,000 shopping vouches which can be redeemed from any of the fair’s exhibitors.

Commenting on the event, Ms Mifsud explained: “All of us have memories of the Malta Trade Fair as the event typically heralded at the start of summer.”

“We are working to keep the Trade Fair alive by being innovative, introducing varied attractions and coupling with favourite brands. We are pleased that Welbee’s are a key strategic partner and will continue to work together to provide more value to our customers,” she added.

This year’s edition is the first full-blown event following the COVID-19 pandemic, and MFCC are working to create a summer festival that will run alongside the retail event, in which there will be a number of attractions for the whole family through a “myriad of activities” for both younger and older visitors. These will include games, daily concerts, themed evenings, and other attractions which are “sure to keep all visitors happy”.

Additionally, over 120 exhibitors representing key companies from within Malta’s local retail and services sector, from travel to sustainable living, financial services to food and beverage providers, furniture to soft furnishings and more, will be present throughout the fair’s 10 days.
