Matthew Zammit took to social media to announce that he has joined Texas-based electric vehicle (EV) company Ferry as Chief Product Officer (CPO).

Ferry looks to facilitate the process leading to EV ownership by bypassing long-term contracts and down-payments.

“Partnering with Ferry will be an exciting journey as it’s clear that over the next 10 years we are going to see some of the most exciting innovations in electric vehicles and infrastructure since the car replaced the horse,” Mr Zammit wrote.

“It’s also time to reverse the toll that traditional combustion driving has had on our planet over the last 50-plus years,” he continued.

Being an app-first company, Ferry released its minimum viable product this month and will be launching formally this coming November in Austin, Texas.

“We hope to be a catalyst for this massive shift, by providing more pathways to affordable ownership of EVs across a portfolio of traditional and future original equipment manufacturers who are seeking to redefine what it means to move for a new generation of drivers,” Mr Zammit wrote.

The Ferry CPO holds years of experience in the Maltese and international tech and marketing spheres.

In 2016, he founded knowyourosocial.com – a product and marketing consulting firm aimed primarily at start-ups.

Mr Zammit also holds the roles of Visiting Lecturer at the University of Malta’s marketing department and Start-up Mentor at Abu Dhabi-based Techstars.
