In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become a defining pillar of purpose-driven organisations.
CLA Malta, offering audit, tax and corporate services in Malta, claims to be built differently, spending the past proving that CSR isn’t about checking boxes, but about showing up, giving back and building a future that’s as sustainable as it is compassionate.
From blood donations to environmental clean-ups, animal welfare to global reforestation efforts, CLA Malta’s 2024-2025 CSR journey has been as diverse as it has been impactful.
Community at the core
March and May saw the CLA Malta team deeply engaged with Dar Merħba Bik, a foundation supporting women and children escaping domestic violence. Through direct action, such as meal preparation and donation drives, the company offered financial aid, human connection and solidarity.
“CSR for us means showing up, listening and acting where it matters most,” said a CLA Malta representative.
“It’s not enough to donate. We want to participate, to be present and to stand beside those we support.”
This philosophy was echoed in May during their volunteering day at the AAA Sanctuary, where employees traded spreadsheets for shelter duties, ensuring Malta’s stray dogs were cared for and comforted.
Environmental leadership: cleaning seas, planting trees
True to its commitment to sustainability, CLA Malta closed 2024 with a coastal cleanup in Mellieħa and began summer 2025 by sponsoring the ninth Ocean Bed Clean-Up in Xemxija Quay, together with the QLZH Foundation. These events involved much more than collecting waste –reshaping public perception and championing ecological responsibility.
On a global scale, the company partnered with Happy Pot to fund planting 100 trees in Madagascar. Every Luzzu-inspired pot sold – an homage to Malta’s traditional fishing boat – led to a tangible act of environmental restoration.
Local roots, global reach
While grounded in Maltese values, CLA Malta’s CSR initiatives have crossed continents. In Ethiopia and Ghana, the company supported children through festive donations and, more impactfully, by funding an entire year of medical care. These efforts are a powerful reminder that kindness knows no borders.
Giving That Grows
Closer to home, CLA Malta’s internal donation programme saw employees contributing monthly to a fund matched by the company, resulting in a €2,000 donation to Puttinu Cares. This initiative exemplifies how shared values within a workplace can translate into concrete social good.
In April, the company also hosted a blood donation drive, a simple yet profound way to contribute to public health.
Built differently, giving differently
Operating from its eco-conscious headquarters in Msida, spanning eight floors and equipped with energy-efficient systems, CLA Malta practices what it preaches. Sustainability isn’t just part of its outreach; it’s embedded in its operations.
As September approaches, CLA Malta prepares to resume its CSR calendar with renewed focus and fresh initiatives. For them, giving back isn’t a once-a-year event. It’s a continuous, conscious choice, a business model where profit meets purpose.
At CLA Malta, success is measured not only in revenue but also in the positive change left behind.
