Shane A. Hunter, CEO at Malta-based AquaBioTech Group, on Sunday celebrated 25 years since the company’s launch.

AquaBioTech Group is a global consulting and engineering company that has a number of years of experience in aquaculture, fisheries and other aquatic sciences, through its different entities. While its headquarters are in Malta, it operates globally with clients and projects in over 55 countries.

Speaking about the achievement, Mr Hunter stated that it is a “huge milestone” for him personally, together with many of his colleagues.

“25 years ago, a small group of us sat in a small office in Msida and signed the papers that formally created the company that is today known as AquaBioTech Group,” he said.

“We started with just 100 Maltese pounds – the equivalent of €232 -, a small back office in a friend’s company, and belief that anything is possible,” he continued, before adding that they “were not wrong”.

The company’s family has now grown to over 120 people from 34 different countries, and Mr Hunter remarked that despite their “differences”, they are “all united by the same passion and drive”. “And truly, many of my colleagues are the most passionate and dedicated people that I have ever met and had the pleasure to work with,” he continued.

“AquaBioTech Group always has been and will remain a company that is driven by people, the team, the family,” he added.

Mr Hunter concluded by thanking his business partners and colleagues for all that they “achieved together”, and for helping him “create” and “live” his “dream”.
