Alan Borg, CEO of the Malta International Airport (MIA) has celebrated the recent installation of advanced CT scanners at the airport as “a leap forward […] both in terms of passenger safety and efficiency.”

The installation of six advanced CT scanners now means passengers no longer need to remove liquids and electronics from their hand luggage during the screening process.

This innovation, he said, transforms what many consider a stressful part of travelling into a seamless and efficient experience.

Mr Borg acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the airport’s teams, stating: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank our teams whose efforts have made this milestone possible, ahead of what is expected to be another busy festive season for Malta International Airport.”
