On Wednesday (today), VisitMalta Incentives and Meetings announced that it appointed Alaine Ciantar as Director.

The VisitMalta branch is the main contact point when organising a conference, meeting, or incentive on the Maltese Islands. It is a non-commercial governmental body offering free and impartial information.

“She brings valuable expertise that will contribute towards strengthening the tourism industry in the Maltese Islands” it said.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Ciantar expressed her excitement to “keep shining a bright light on our gorgeous Islands.”

On LinkedIn, she describes herself as being a strong commercially-minded business development professional with a demonstrated track record of leading, training and integrating with various sales and marketing teams.

Prior to joining Visit Malta, Ms Ciantar worked at Corinthia Hotels Limited for nearly 18 years, 10 of which were as Director of Revenue, and the last seven years as Area Commercial Director.

Along with her experience, she studied hospitality management at the Institute of Tourism Studies. Combining the two, Ms Ciantar became skilled in hospitality operations, event management, sales and marketing, and revenue management.
