Bank of Valletta plc (BOV) announced on Monday that regulatory approval has been granted for the appointment of Theodoros Papadopoulos as Chief Digital Officer.
His appointment was initially announced in September, while his role includes creating and implementing BOV’s Digital Transformation strategy to enhance BOV customers’ experience.
Mr Papadopoulos enters the role after serving with Eurobank EFG since 2016, most recently serving as Director of User Experience.
Prior to this, he was engaged at Booking.com in the Netherlands between 2011 and 2016, initially as a Global Hotels Projects Team Member, before being appointed as Manager of Strategic Partnerships in 2013.
He has a strong educational background, holding an MSc in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia, an MA in International Business (Public Policy) and a BA in Public Relations and Communication Policy.

One of its targets is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture, forestry and other land use by 42.4%.
After nine months of renovation work, the Valletta branch is once again open to the public.
He has years of business experience behind him, having founded different companies and worked in consultancy.
He will be taking on the role after Johann Schembri’s resignation.
