Nick Bugeja, CEO of Malta-based content marketing agency Ballotra Media, has won the Best Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 2023 Best in Business Awards.

The young entrepreneur, who is also Managing Director of Fusionn Group and Founder of adult card game Karti Bil-B*jd, started programming when he was only nine years old, before he then acquired a certification in Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking at just 16.

Mr Bugeja said that the award is a testament to the “collective effort” of the ambitious team at Ballotra Media, always seeking to “push the boundaries”.

“We’re just starting. Onwards and upwards to raising the bar in 2024,” he added.

Malta’s Best-in-Business Awards is a business awards programme that is judged by independent panels of prominent local business experts. Held on an annual basis, this year’s awards ceremony took place on Saturday 16th December, bringing together various local business, industry, and manufacturing leaders.

Despite his relatively young age, Mr Bugeja has already gained plenty of experience working across a wide range of industries, having served as Head of IT at SiGMA, Medical Cannabiz World and  AIBCsummit, and was also Co-Founder of events and management service Platinum Events.

His experience also includes working as Video Producer for American YouTuber Jake Paul and Team10, creating content seen by more than 50 million people.
