Maltese engineering professional Maresca Demanuele has announced that she has started a new role as Senior Program Manager for HKX at Siemens Energy, marking the latest step in a career focused on technology, fleet management and renewable energy operations.

In the role, Ing. Demanuele said she will support the teams responsible for delivering value throughout the operational lifetime of the company’s turbines.

“Having spent the last years working in Technology, from fleet management on a growing global portfolio – solving our direct-drive fleet's most critical technical problems – to building the process landscape for our Quality Program and next-generation product development, I now have the opportunity to support the teams responsible for delivering value throughout the entire operational lifetime of our turbines.”

HKX refers to the Hollandse Kust offshore wind farm regions in the Netherlands. The projects form part of the large-scale offshore wind expansion in the Dutch North Sea, where Siemens Gamesa technology plays a central role in turbine supply and service.

One of the best-known projects in the cluster is Hollandse Kust Zuid, a 1.5GW offshore wind farm developed by Vattenfall and described by Siemens Gamesa as the world’s first subsidy-free offshore wind power project.

The wind farm is fitted with 139 Siemens Gamesa 11MW offshore turbines, underlining the scale of the operational environment in which Ing. Demanuele’s new responsibilities sit.

Announcing the move, Ing. Demanuele thanked her colleagues who “guided, challenged, encouraged, and supported me along the way.”

She added that she’s “really looking forward to this new challenge working with the incredible operations teams who keep our turbines running every day, as we continue building a high-performing portfolio together.”

A graduate of the University of Malta’s engineering course, Ing. Demanuele started her career at Methode Electronics before continuing her studies at the University of Sussex.

She has been employed with Siemens since 2022.
